Your choices
Every family is different. Your farewell may reflect a lifestyle, a culture or a faith, and we will help you honour each of these.
A time for family and friends to gather, share memories and offer comfort, in our bright visitation areas.
A traditional religious or military service, in our chapel or your place of worship, led by your minister or faith leader.
A non-traditional gathering that reflects the person you love, often led by a non-denominational celebrant.
Usually a visitation and funeral service with the casket present, open or closed as you wish, followed by burial or entombment in a mausoleum.
Cremation is an alternative to burial, not to a funeral. You can still hold a visitation and service before or after.
A gentler moment after the service. Our funeral home has on-site reception areas for family and friends.
Burial
A burial can be an earth burial or entombment in a mausoleum. Families often consider their own traditions, their faith, and whether a cemetery plot has already been chosen. We will help you weigh the options, including:
Cremation
Choosing cremation does not mean giving up a service. Many families hold a visitation and funeral beforehand, or a memorial gathering afterwards. Cremated remains can be:
What happens next
You do not have to know what to do. Here is what to expect, one step at a time.
1
If the death happens at home and your loved one was not under palliative or hospice care, call 911 first. In a hospital, nursing home or hospice, staff will make the necessary calls. Then call us, at any hour.
2
A funeral director will answer your questions and arrange to bring your loved one into our care, wherever they are.
3
Together we set the details: the date, time and place of the visitation and service, burial or cremation, the casket or urn, the obituary notice and transportation.
4
We complete the necessary paperwork, arrange transportation and put your family’s choices into action, so you can focus on one another.
Bring what you can; we will help with the rest.
Making it personal
We will walk through each choice with you, at your pace.
Our chapel, your place of worship, or another place that was meaningful.
A minister or faith leader, or a non-denominational celebrant.
Songs, readings and tributes that reflect the life being celebrated.
We help you write and share the obituary, including online.
